Coming Spring 2014 to Williamston, North Carolina
Big Bass Fish Farm will be located on a privately owned lake near Williamston, NC, with 1.4 miles of wooded shoreline. The lake will be intensively managed for the production of hybrid striped bass, largemouth bass, black crappie and bluegill.
We will maintain a heavy forage fish population to ensure maximum growth of largemouth bass and hybrid stripers. Supplemental feeding will allow for a perpetual harvest of 1,500 pounds of fish per month without depleting the inventory. Our goal of maintaining stocking density of 1,500 - 2,000 pounds of fish per acre will allow us to guarantee you a memorable fishing experience. If you don’t catch 20 pounds or more of fish in a 4 hour trip, the trip will be on us. That’s right, no charge unless you catch a lot of fish. We are that confident that you will have a great trip.
The proposed rates for 4 hours of guided fishing are $195 for one person, and $295 for two people. Proposed fishing times are
6 AM - 10 AM, 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM, and 3 PM - 7 PM. Big Bass Fish Farm will be a licensed fee fishing lake, so no fishing license will be required.
Largemouth bass and bluegill fishing will be catch and release only. Other species may be kept with no limit, at an additional cost of $6.00 per pound. Any injured fish that will die must be kept and paid for. We will encourage the use of single barbless hooks or circle hooks if you don’t want to take fish home. We will be able to supply some fishing lures for you to use.
The lake is located 1 mile from the Hampton Inn, 2 miles from the Days Inn and Econolodge, 4 miles from the Holiday Inn Express, and within 3 miles of at least ten restaurants. The Bob Martin Eastern Agricultural Center is 4 miles away. If you are planning to be in the Williamston area on business, or for an equestrian event, what could be better than taking a half day for bass fishing on a beautiful private lake?
